W
ater production is a worldwide challenge, with an
average of four barrels of water being produced
for every one barrel of oil. Increased water
production can create severe scale and corrosion issues,
and additional environmental and financial issues are often
created due to the separation and disposal of water. One
major environmental challenge facing offshore operations is
the discharge of oil and entrained production chemicals in
overboard water.
