Page Background

The company’s line of thermally processed (ATP) coiled tubing

features a uniformmicrostructure throughout the entire length

that theoretically removes bias welds, providing greater reliability,

improved corrosion resistance, and extended life of the strings.

In addition to increasing coiled tubing operation efficiency,

equipment has been developed to improve onsite safety during

wireline and hydraulic fracturing jobs. For example, the iMaxx

TM

wireline truck offers a panoramic, 176˚view, improving the safety

of personnel and equipment at frac and wireline sites.

In an effort to support fraccing operations, the big-bore

FracMaxx

TM

system featuring the Elmar

TM

QuickLatch

TM

– a single,

large-bore, high-capacity flowline and wellhead connector –

allows easy connection and disconnection from the wellheads,

improving upon safety but without using costly hours rigging up

zipper manifold flow iron.

As lateral lengths continue to increase and wells become

more complicated, a reliable frac plug solution is needed. The

VapR

TM

fully dissolvable frac plug provides a dependablemethod

for temporary zonal isolation during fracturing operations in

horizontal completions. The compact design removes the need for

milling and post-frac cleanout, leaving no debris to remove from

the well.

In addition, the company offers a line of supporting

equipment, including nitrogen units, pressure control equipment,

wireline equipment, frac spreads and completion tools systems to

keep operations running safely and efficiently.

RubiconOilfieldInternational

Rubicon Oilfield International provides oilfield services and

products that cover a broad span of the completion phase of

the well.

Inmulti-stage completions operators are looking to optimise

their completion operation with a solution that increases

efficiency, reduces risk, and performs tomeet the needs of their

well. The plug and perf challenge involves pumping a wireline

bottomhole assembly (BHA) to its appropriate location, anchoring

and sealing the plug to hold back up to 10 000 psi of pressure

in temperatures up to 300˚F, and then quickly and efficiently

being removed from the well. The RzrFRAC

TM

composite frac plug

delivers the 10 000 psi seal and anchor at 300˚F required while

utilising 100% compositematerial. Selecting the plug duringmill

up operations for a 60-stage completion can result in up to 1000 lb

less debris in the well. The HydraSTART STV removes the need for

tubing-conveyed perforating by providing a simple and reliable

hydraulically actuated injection path.

Recompletion and well service operations can encounter

restrictions that limit the use of traditional downhole tools. The

company’s inflatable service and production packers enable

well service without the need for costly removal or remediation

of these restrictions. Removal of tubing strings is intensive and

costly. In the event that well service has to be provided below a

tubing string, the company’s thru tubing inflatable packers enable

these operations without the need to remove the tubing.

Recent frac plug operations include successful runs with

operators in the northeast US and Canada, with all 5 1/2 in. second

generation plugs drilling out in under four and a half minutes with

weight on bit between 1900 – 2100 lb.

PackersPlusEnergyServices

Packers Plus Energy Services is a supplier of multi-stage completion

systems and provides solutions for challenging applications in

horizontal, multilateral, HPHT environments and offshorewells.

The company introduced the PrimeSET™ liner hanger in 2016

as one of the first products in the TREX™ cemented product line.

The liner hanger is APE V0 qualified and uses sealing technology

on a single piecemandrel to pack off the annulus and secure the

liner in intermediate casing. The liner hanger element package

and slips can withstand high pressure applications, while the

specially designed bonded liner seal can withstand high pump

rates, requiringminimal set down weight to pack off. The liner

hanger is deployed using running tools with anti-release features

and the ability to rotate to bottom.

In the short time since launching the product, it has

been run in hundreds of wells around the world and deployed in

demanding environments, including: rotating during installation

with prolonged high torque forces due to severe doglegs,

successfully setting in a deviated wellbore with a TD of more than

20 000 ft, and incorporating S13Cr materials for installation in an

offshore well.

The TREX cemented product line builds on the

company’s experience in the downhole tool market and

complements its line of openhole technologies. The company is

also in the early stages of steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD)

technology development, as well as development of flow control

devices and intelligent well systems, which will be key pillars in

moving towards more offshore projects.

StageCompletions

Stage Completions has introduced a new collet-activated sliding

sleeve fracturing system called the SC Bowhead II. It addresses the

potential design limitations of traditional single-point entry and

limited entry systems and can be utilised in either openhole or

cased hole applications. To activate the sleeve, a collet assembly

with amatching profile is pumped downhole with a dissolvable

ball seated on top of the collet. The collet will pass through the

bore of all sliding sleeves it encounters without engaging until

it reaches the sleeve, which has the samematching internal

profile. At this point the collet will engage thematching profile

in the sleeve and a differential pressure can be applied to shift

the sleeve downwards while exposing the open ports of the

sleeve. The open ports are located above the dissolvable ball
